Her Educational Background

Meltem Demirors started her educational journey in Houston, Texas. Here, she studied mathematical economics and graduated with a BA. Following this degree, she stuck with academia and obtained a Master of Business Administration from MIT. Such a business and economics background is not uncommon for blockchain masterminds.

Her Blockchain Involvement

Meltem Demirors would be the first to admit she is a cryptocurrency nerd and a big fan of Bitcoin in particular. Overall, her involvement with the cryptocurrency world can be categorized into three roles. She helps investors in the crypto industry, provides advice and blockchain development strategies to businesses, and is a massive advocate at events where she gives talks on cryptocurrency. She has been granted her position to do these things through experiences in blockchain-related finance and legacy aspects. In regard to legacy, Demirors has worked with large companies giving them advice on capital efficiency and financial risk.

Her Blockchain Career Path

After being an intern at Dow Chemical and Tradax Energy, Demirors has held a number of positions linked to the blockchain. She was a consultant at Deloitte, a programme coordinator at Fintech Sandbox, a member of blockchain’s council at the World Economic Forum, and famously a director of development at DCG.

Her last role at DCG gave her the responsibility of helping blockchain businesses network, leverage their insights and access capital. Following this position, she became the Chief Strategy Officer at CoinShares. This group has the overarching aim of providing two traded ETNs based on Ethereum and Demiror’s much-loved Bitcoin. Impressively, she also teaches courses on blockchains at the University of Oxford and MIT.

Volunteering Work

Along with her commercial accomplishments, Demirors has also volunteered for good causes. For two years she was a leader at the MS Society. Previous to this work, she was a tutor for a non-profit organization called Junior Achievement. In this role, Demirors would help deliver employment-based skills such as financial literacy to young people preparing for the workplace.
